"I started a new ZADR fan fiction and this is a part from the first chapter I have typed up (I probably won't be posting it soon because I'm trying to polish it. I want it to be much better than the fanfic I just finished and I plan on taking my time with it and proof-reading each chapter billions of times and editing where necessary before posting them online. lol I'm planning on making it a pretty long one, too, because I want to go through the progression from enemies to lovers... I don't see that as often in fanfics as I would like to).
Story behind the drawing... Zim's really just leaning in to sniff Dib and he's making him extremely uncomfortable. He snuck into Dib's room at, like, 3:30 in the morning to return an item to him and Dib is having a hard time processing what the heck is going on because he's still half-asleep.
As for the drawing itself (besides what is probably some obvious inspiration style-wise on Zim...), just trying out this and that, attempting to do clothing folds (I probably failed miserably). I'm happy with Dib on this one. And that hand is probably the best human hand I've ever drawn (which is sad because it's still crappy... lol). It's kind of cool to see myself improving a little bit.
Didn't draw a background because I hate doing them.
I did start trying to ink and color this on Photoshop (I'm finally seeing some improvement trying to use my graphic tablet, I just need to get the lines I draw to be a little bit smoother) but I threw in the towel on that... I just have no patience today and I'm running on 15 minutes of sleep. Literally. 15 minutes is all I managed to sleep last night.
I apologize for the smudginess. I tried to clean it up a little bit. I need better paper or pencils or something (suggestions are welcome because I'm a bit uneducated in this arena). This was just sketched out with a #2 pencil and printer paper. lol I have some Prismacolor pencils but I don't like that they don't erase well. >.<
